  • Burgundy lies in the heart of France. The climate is hot and harsh with severe winters.

  1. Chablis:– produces mostly white wines, wines matured in oak barrels & stainless vats (oak barrel is used to mature wine, steel vat is used for bottling).
  2. The Cote D’Or: – it means hill of golden, produces red & white wines.
  3. Cote Chalonnaise:- produces both red and white wines
  4. The Maconnais: – produces predominantly white wines but some red wines also.
  5. Beaujolais: – it is situated below Macon, primarily a red wine producing region.
